Lecturer of the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta became a speaker at the Workshop "Gorga Batak Heritage" organized by UNESCO JAKARTA. He is Dr. Yulriawan Dafri, M.Hum. UNESCO Jakarta has organized a program to empower young creative entrepreneurs who live in the world heritage area. One of them is those from the Toba region who are engaged in weaving and gorga making. The covid-19 pandemic that attacked globally caused a drastic decrease in demand for ulos and gorga, this was also felt in other business sectors. To respond to this, UNESCO Jakarta discussed strategically to revitalize sectors related to intangible cultural heritage, while promoting these villages. UNESCO Jakarta through its program implementing partner LKiS Foundation held training for intangible cultural heritage activists, especially the Gorga sector, through technical training on the use of eco-friendly raw materials and innovating existing forms into new products, which have other values in form and function.
