Dear:
Rector and Head of Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta,
Deans at Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta
Vice Deans, Heads and Secretaries of Departments and Study Programs,
Educators and Education Personnel within the Faculty of Fine Arts
Elders, alumni and the FSR Dharma Wanita Persatuan Board,
The Head of BEM FSR and his staff, as well as the students of FSR ISI Yogyakarta,
My honored guests.
Assalamu'alaikum wr, wr. Peace be upon us all, Om suasti astu
We give thanks to God Almighty that for His abundance of grace and grace we are given strength, health and safety so that on this happy morning we can attend the 62nd anniversary of the Faculty of Fine Arts and at the same time thanksgiving for the completion (phase I) of the construction of "Sasana Aji Yasa" Public Lecture and Exhibition Building FSR ISI Yogyakarta.
My esteemed audience.
Still in the atmosphere of the new year 2012, I represent the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta, congratulating the entire academic community and the big family of FSR, let us renew and strengthen our commitment to continue to build and raise our Faculty in particular and the world of Indonesian Fine Arts in general.
Ladies and gentlemen, the commemoration of the Harlah FSR this time uses an event design that is somewhat different from previous years, if usually the commemoration is held in the afternoon / evening on a daily basis so that the strong sense of kinship, informal and nostalgic, this time the commemoration is held in the morning / afternoon in conjunction with weekdays and audience You are welcome to sit in chairs that are arranged more formally. Although in a simple format what we are trying to offer this time, in addition to the desire for the commemoration of Harlah FSR to be more festive, attended by more academicians, lecturers, alumni, students and invited guests, this is also intended so that later the Harlah or Dies FSR event can become one of the official events of the Faculty, thus it can be used as a means to strengthen the image of the institution, as a College of Fine Arts that is present and appears firmly, and confidently in the community. In the future we intend to develop the Harlah or Dies event not only as a nostalgic birth anniversary event, looking back, but also as a show of achievement to account for the performance of the institution to the public. Even at Harlah we need to look forward, meaning that with increasing age we enter a new stage which can be a terminal or a place where we should be able to see new horizons ahead and open up possibilities for where we as an institution can and will go.
My respected audience,
On this happy occasion, I would like to present a report on the implementation of the work program that has been carried out in 2011.
Organization Field
Thank God, four study programs in FSR ISI Yk have all submitted forms for accreditation assessment and have been visited by assessors from BAN PT. Two days ago we were still anxious about the value that would be achieved by the Art Craft Study Program, but we got good news that the Art Craft Study Program, with its various shortcomings and advantages, had succeeded in achieving an A grade, as had been achieved by the Interior Design and Visual Communication Design Study Programs a few months ago. Meanwhile, the Fine Arts Study Program has received a B grade, a grade that in our opinion does not match the achievements that have been shown by the Fine Arts Study Program. Maybe the Fine Arts Study Program needs to send forms once again to convince BAN PT and the assessors that the Fine Arts Study Program deserves the best grade. On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty congratulated and thanked the Heads of Study Program along with task force who have worked hard, worked day and night, compiled forms and prepared equipment for the accreditation assessment process.
Furthermore, we also need to report that the Craft Art Department has made preparations or proposals to open a Batik and Fashion Art Study Program (D3), the proposal documents have not been completed yet but it is expected that in the 2012/2013 academic year this Study Program will already accept new students. Related to the increase in interest of prospective new students in 2011 yesterday, the Interior Design Study Program has made preparations to open non-regular classes in the 2012/2013 academic year.
Another thing that I need to report is the birth of the Forum for the Study of Fine Arts and Culture, led by Drs. Suwarno Wisetrotomo, M.Hum. This forum aims to study art (especially) from a cultural perspective, in order to broaden the perspective of its members in understanding art issues both in the realm of discourse and practice. Although organizationally this new unit does not yet have a position, it should be noted that in recent months FOKESAB has become a partner of the FSR leadership in developing and managing several activities. academics such as seminars and exhibitions.
Education Field
In 2011 FSR ISI Yogyakarta has accepted 304 new students, slightly smaller than in 2010 which reached 322 students. At the end of 2011, the total number of FSR ISI Yogyakarta students was 1456 people, (leave and inactive students), while active students reached 1174 people.
Furthermore, the number of graduates in 2011, in the two graduation periods of March and September, reached 109 people with 9 students achieving the score of cum laude (Department of Fine Arts 2, Crafts 5 and Interior Design Study Program 2 people).
In an effort to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process, FSR ISI Yogyakarta has carried out a number of academic activities, namely the National Seminar with the theme "Reading Art, Remembering Knowledge", in October, in November organizing the INFLUX Fine Art Exhibition, a Faculty-level exhibition, located at Jogja Gallery. While at the Department and Study Program levels several exhibitions were held, namely Reading Lines, Celebrating Pak Broto (October), Exhibition and Inauguration of the R. Soetopo Gallery (November). Meanwhile, the Interior Design Study Program in collaboration with HDII participated in the Indonesia Building Technology 2011 exhibition at JEC (November). Two other Fine Art exhibitions held at the Institute level were the 27th ISI Yk Dies Exhibition in May, and Documenting Now: Person to PersonDecember 2011, both held at ISI Yogyakarta Gallery.
In 2011 FSR ISI Yogyakarta has also published a Faculty Profile book which is intended to streamline faculty communication to the wider community and provide more comprehensive and new information to prospective students. Meanwhile, to further optimize the teaching and learning process, especially in the Final Project course, in 2011 the Academic Division was able to compile a revised edition of the TA Manual.
Research and Community Service
In 2011, several lecturers of FSR ISI Yoyakarta have succeeded in obtaining research funds for Competing Grants and Stranas as many as 5 studies with a total fund of 244 million rupiah, and involving 10 research lecturers from the Art Craft department. While research with DIPA Institute funds has been completed 6 studies for 6 novice researchers, from the Craft and Design Department, the amount of funds is 26 million rupiah. Although there are already 16 lecturers conducting research, it still needs to be increased again, until it reaches 30 % or 35 lecturers.
Furthermore, the writing of textbooks there are 2 lecturers who received publishing assistance funds namely Prof. Dwi Maryanto, MFA Ph.D. and Br. Arif Suharson, S.Sn., M.Sn., for book publishing grants (DIKTI) got one on behalf of Dr. Sunarto, M.Hum. Grants for textbook writing are 10 million each and book writing is 15 million.
The Community Service activities that have been carried out during 2011 are 14 activities with a cost of 24 million rupiah, as well as 2 IBM (Science and Technology for the Community) activities of 40 million rupiah each and 1 IBPE (Science and Technology for Export Products) activity of 100 million rupiah. I deliberately mention the large amount of rupiah clearly so that this can motivate other lecturers to make proposals so that they can win research and community service grants, while the Chairperson of the LPPM is Dr. Sunarto, M.Hum., who I am sure will provide information and directions or tips on how to make our proposals successful in winning grants.
Student Affairs
The new BEM FSR ISI Yogyakarta, 2011-2012 period, has been formed with the chairman Mr. Hendy Cipoetra (DKV Study Program), as well as the complete BEM board has been formed and inaugurated in November 2011. Human Resource Development
For 2011 there were 46 lecturers who continued their studies, namely 33 S-2 and 13 S-3, there were 3 lecturers who had successfully completed their studies, namely: Br. Anom Wibisono, S.Sn, M.Sc, Br. Drs. Titoes Libert, M.Sn. OC Priyanto, ST, M.Arch. At the end of 2011, one of the lecturers of the Department of Fine Arts, namely my honorable Drs. Edy Sunaryo, MS, has successfully taken the closed examination as a Doctor of Creation. His open promotion exam will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012, we the Faculty leaders and of course the entire academic community pray for Mr. Edy's success in the promotion exam tomorrow.
Furthermore, the Faculty received additional Educators and Education Personnel in 2011, namely Sdri. Tri Septiana Kurniati, S.Pd., M.Hum., and Br. Nanik Iriantini, A.Md. The lecturer who retired in 2011 was Drs. Soebroto, MS, while there were 2 employees who retired, namely Mrs. Sri Suharni, BA, and Mr. Sucipto. On behalf of the leadership of the Faculty and the entire academic community, I would like to congratulate and thank you very much for your service so far, and apologize if there are any mistakes, whether intentional or not.
For 2011 we are grateful that a large number of FSR Educators can pass lecturer certification, namely 28 people, so that for now there are 69 lecturers who have been certified. However, for those certified in 2011, only the news of graduation has been issued and the certificate and decree have not yet been issued so that the allowance cannot be paid. I pray that the certificates and decrees will come down soon so that the allowances can also be paid, amen.
Another program related to the development of the Faculty's human resources and the Ministry of Education and Culture's bureaucratic reform is renumeration, which is a program for structuring the forms of rewards that will be given to employees for the contributions they make to the institution. For now, position analysis is being carried out for all employees at ISI Yogyakarta.
Facilities and Infrastructure
In this field several activities have been carried out, namely the maintenance of educational buildings, in the FSR ISI Yogyakarta environment costing 85 million, maintenance of educational equipment reaching 95 million.
In the Creative Industry Improvement grant, the program implementer at FSR ISI Yk., is the DKV Study Program with the activity of developing Comic courses, the funds achieved are 150 million, for curriculum improvement and procurement of studio equipment.
Educational Equipment for Departments and Study Programs in FSR from APBNP ISI Yk amounted to 825 million, and procurement of practicum goods 150 million.
The construction of the Public Lecture and Exhibition Building "Sasana Aji Yasa" worth 4.3 billion. I also need to say that this building can be built thanks to the struggle and hard work of Mr. Age Hartono as PD II FSR, who from the beginning of the proposal, planning, design to the construction in 2011 yesterday became the main motor so that this building could finally be realized, for that I represent the Faculty to thank you very much for your struggle and dedication.
Cooperation Field
Some of the Faculty cooperation activities, in this case carried out by the Pure Art Department, which have been carried out during 2011 are Calligraphy workshops with Japanese artists, sculpture exhibitions with Australian artist Mr. Keith, both of which are collaborations with Postgraduate ISI Yogyakarta. Another collaboration, with Faber Castell: organizing a national illustration competition for the public. Illustration workshop with German artist Julia Kaergel, sponsored by Goethe Institut (December). Cooperation with Ester Hazy, namely the residency of two students from Hungary to FSR ISI Yogyakarta, for 1 semester, yesterday exhibited at the Katamsi Gallery, along with 3 other international students.
Meanwhile, FSR together with the International Affairs Unit of ISI Yogyakarta in 2011, on the recommendation of DIKTI, has designed a collaboration with two American universities, namely Chatham University, Pittsburg and Miami Dale Collage, to organize a collaboration between the two universities. summer course which will be conducted in May 2012.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Bill Gates once said "... it is good to celebrate success, but it is more important to learn from failure". Looking at some of the failures or unsuccessful FSR ISI Yk., in 2011, we realize that we still have a lot of work to do, to improve the quality and productivity of the institution. Some aspects that I see need to be built and improved are: organizational governance, quality of educational services, academic atmosphere, institutional entrepreneurship and cooperation networks.
To end my report, please allow me to ask all the citizens of the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta let us jointly promote the FSR that we love. No matter how meaningless our position or self in the institution there is always something we can do to advance this faculty, and no matter how small the contribution we make (I am sure) it will benefit the institution, society and the country. On this happy occasion, on behalf of the Faculty, I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to Dr. M Agus Burhan, M.Hum. (Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts for the period 2008-2011) who laid the foundation and initiated the faculty's activity program in 2011, without his leadership many of FSR's targets and achievements would not have been realized. My appreciation and gratitude also go to the Educators and Education Personnel for their loyalty and dedication to the Faculty. Likewise, to the students who have brought the good name of FSR ISI Yogyakarta, to the alumni I express my highest appreciation for their assistance and active participation in promoting our Faculty. And to other institutions and parties that we cannot mention one by one, who have played a lot of roles in the framework of improving quality and in the teaching and learning process. My gratitude also goes to Drs. Suwarno Wistrotomo, M.Hum. doctoral candidate for his willingness to deliver a speech "From Gampingan Axis to Sewon Bantul Axis" on this 62nd anniversary of FSR ISI Yk.
Finally, to all of you, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your attention and patience in reading the Dean's report for 2011, and apologize if there are mistakes and shortcomings that are not pleasing to all of you.
Billahitaufiq wal hidyah. Wassalamu'alaikum Wr.Wb.
