The batik craft fashion design study program again held its second activity after Asian Student Fashion Week, at the end of May, namely ROA 7 (Reflection Of Art) this activity was held on May 31, 2025 at Jogja City Mall. ROA 7 was carried out by the Batik Craft Fashion Design Study Program class of 2023 as many as 52 students were involved in this fashion show, this activity was an assignment for the fourth semester of Batik Craft Fashion Design, at the end of the semester they each completed a fashion work, each student displayed 3 of their fashion works.
The main objective of the Reflection of Art event, themed The Harmony of Elements, is to develop and awaken creativity in fashion by promoting a dynamic image and lifestyle. In this context, young designers are expected to express their fresh ideas through fashion designs that not only follow trends, but also portray their personalities and personal visions. In addition, this activity aims to build the works of young people in the fashion world, providing space for them to expand their creativity, while responding to the ever-changing development of fashion and culture.
Through this event, it is hoped to create a space for young people to showcase and express their creativity, especially in the context of batik and fashion, so as to introduce a new, fresher and more innovative view of batik. Batik, known as Indonesia's cultural heritage, is expected to be appreciated in a more modern, attractive, and relevant way with the times. In addition, another goal to be achieved is to realize the ideas and thoughts of young creators in the form of batik fashion works that can be enjoyed and appreciated by the wider community. Through the appreciation of art in the field of fashion, it is hoped that a generation can be formed that is not only smart in thinking, but also independent and has a deep understanding of cultural wisdom, especially batik.
This activity also provides a forum for students of the Batik Craft Fashion Design Study Program ISI Yogyakarta to showcase their best works to the general public. This aims to provide opportunities for them to appear on a wider stage, hone their skills, and interact directly with the market and the wider community, so as to open up greater opportunities for their career development in the fashion world.
