The Fine Arts Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta, on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 16.00 WIB opened an international art exhibition entitled "Hello There: Postcard Reconstruction". The opening procession of this exhibition was held at the Fadjar Sidik Gallery, ISI Yogyakarta Pure Art Study Program with the sequence of events starting with remarks from the chairman of the committee, Yusuf Ferdinan Yudhistira, M.Sn, which was then continued with remarks by the exhibition curator and Head of the Pure Art Department, Satrio Hari Wicaksono, M.Sn.. Further remarks were delivered by the Vice Dean III FSRD, Lutse Lambert Daniel Morin, M.Sn. and Vice Rector I, Dr. Dewanto Sukistono, M.Sn before being officially opened by Ms. Rian Syahariani, Deputy Executive Vice President Regional 4 Central Java DIY PT POS Indonesia as one of the partners in this exhibition. In addition to PT POS Indonesia, this exhibition also collaborates with the Indonesian Philatelists Association (PFI). The opening of this exhibition was also enlivened by the performance of Los Fungos band.

The exhibition, curated by Satrio Hari Wicaksono, a lecturer in the Fine Arts study program, features around 200 works involving 190 artists from 8 countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Grenada, Afghanistan, Hungary, Germany and the Netherlands. With the theme "Hello There", which is synonymous with the process of greeting, this exhibition is also a space for artworks to dialogue and greet the younger generation to see and get to know this communication medium called postcards, opening new networks across generations. The process of greeting can also be interpreted as a process of introduction for our colleagues who are separated by distance, opening up networking and connection space for cross-dimensions, such as countries, generations, and several other distinguishing aspects, which we may have started before but for some reason, the communication was not intensely established. This activity then becomes a space to say hello again, interpret each other's point of view, and establish intense communication with a simple communication medium, the reconstruction of postcards as works of art. This exhibition will be held until December 4, 2024.
