STUDENT CREATIVITY PROGRAM (PKM) FACULTY OF FINE ARTS INSTITUTE OF INDONESIA YOGYAKARTA

The Directorate General of Higher Education through the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) is doing various things to foster student innovation and creativity in Indonesia. Student Affairs has made various changes, including the use of web-based information technology for the implementation of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and the addition of new categories. Efforts to foster student creativity and innovation are an integral part in shaping the character and skills of thinking and acting of students.

PKM is a form of implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education launched by the Directorate General of Higher Education in 2021 under the management of the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) is an effort to foster, accommodate, and realize students' creative and innovative ideas. PKM has an impact on improving student achievement and university achievement in the ranking of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Since its launch, PKM has received a positive response, both among students and university leaders. This is reflected in the increasing number of participating universities and proposals uploaded by students.

In an effort to accommodate the development of students' creative and innovative ideas, PKM continues to be developed and refined so that students are able to anticipate, understand and even contribute to realizing the goals of world life launched by the United Nations in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2015-2030. PKM is also designed to adopt digital technology that has permeated almost all aspects of life, therefore, starting in 2019 a new PKM field was introduced, namely PKM-GFK or PKM-Constructive Futuristic Ideas, and in 2022, PKM-GFK will become one of the proposal-based funding PKM so that it is known as PKM 6 Fields along with PKM 5 fields that previously existed.

Guidelines for 2022, the implementation of PKM are PKM for Research (PKM-R), PKM for Entrepreneurship (PKM-K), PKM for Community Service (PKM-PM), PKM for Application of Science and Technology (PKM-PI), PKM for Creative Work (PKM-KC), PKM for Constructive Futuristic Ideas (PKM-GFK), PKM for Written Ideas (PKM-GT), and PKM for Scientific Articles (PKM-AI).

The essence of PKM is to equip students as prospective scholars with: academic understanding, management skills, communication skills and thinking skills. All of this is directed at finding solutions to problems creatively (unique and useful) and constructively (applicable or can be implemented). While the notion of creativity in this context is the integration or combination of cognitive or mind aspects (imagination, reasoning, perception), affective or (emotion, aesthetics, harmony), and psychomotor (skills). This is all that will be implemented in PKM.

The Student Creativity Program strongly supports the achievement of the main performance indicators (KPI) of the Directorate General of Higher Education, namely increasing the number of outstanding students at the national level. Achieving the number of outstanding students is an effort of all parties even though the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic require us to make efforts to adapt, modify and adjust activities in all fields by combining online and offline-based activities and utilizing digital facilities for program success. Attention to government regulations and strict implementation of health protocols are important keys to the implementation of PKM 2023.
