This talk show presented young comic artist Stefanus Cahya Verdian who is an alumnus of DKV ISI Yogyakarta and Fia Royyana, S.Sn., M.Ds. lecturer of Sequential Drawing Art course in DKV study program as a discussant. The comic explores the meaning and values contained in traditional Indonesian games such as Gobak Sodor, Benteng-bentengan, and Lompat Karet-not only as games, but also as metaphors about responsibility, leadership, and life challenges. During the session, Verdian emphasized the importance of bringing childhood experiences into the comic medium as an effort to bring the Indonesian comic industry out of the stagnant zone. He also discussed the creative agenda that motivates him to continue working and presenting relevant and down-to-earth stories.
Through a series of Talkshow and Workshop The Visual Communication Design Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta continues to emphasize its commitment to encourage reflective, collaborative, and sustainable design practices. Not only as a technical learning space, this activity is a vehicle for students to explore broader narratives, materials, and relationships in the world of visual communication design today.
