Under the Independent Campus 2024 Competition Program (PKKM), the Visual Communication Design Study Program (DKV Study Program), Faculty of Fine Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta has launched two activities with several sub-activities. One of them is the internship program. There are nine partners, consisting of industry and government agencies. One of them, DKV Study Program collaborates with Wirokerten Village.

The collaboration between DKV Study Program and Wirokerten Village has been established since a few years ago, when DKV Study Program released Mbangun Desa (in) with Lab. IP UMY.

On Wednesday, 07/08/2024, DKV Study Program sent 6 students to Wirokerten Village in the framework of an independent campus internship. These students will collaborate with Wirokerten Village for the next four months, until November 30, 2024. For now, Wirokerten Village is preparing for the Cultural Independent Village Trajectory, so that with the collaboration with DKV Study Program students, it is hoped that it will be able to improve the Wirokerten Village brand through various visual assets as a Cultural Independent Village.

At this time, the Wirokerten Village was attended by Carik, Rini Widiastuti, and Widyanto as Ulu-Ulu. Meanwhile, the DKV Study Program was attended by Kadek Primayudi as the supervisor of MBKM students located in Wirokerten Village, and also Daru Tunggul Aji, as the Head of DKV Study Program. This collaboration is expected to be a good start in order to realize Wirokerten Village as a Cultural Independent Village in 2025 and is expected to develop and promote its cultural wealth, as well as improve the welfare of the local community through the cultural tourism sector.
