The Indonesian House of Representatives team conducted a comparative study and knowledge sharing to the Visual Communication Design Study Program, Faculty of Arts and Design, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. In the event held on October 26, 2024 at the Ajiayasa Building, Faculty of Arts and Design, a presentation and discussion session was held in response to the design of the Memory Book of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2019-2024 Period. This activity aims to obtain suggestions and input for improvement and refinement in the preparation of the DPR RI Memory Book in the future.
The material presentation was delivered by Dr. Hartono Karnadi, M.Sn. and FX. Widyatmoko, M.Sn. with moderation by Terra Bajraghosa, M.Sn. The speakers stated that the need to design the visual appearance in the book can be adjusted to the theme, concept and purpose of creating the book by considering visual aesthetics which can also be a media branding of DPR RI as the face of the Indonesian government.
In her remarks, the Coordinator of the Visual Communication Design Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta, Fransisca Sherly Taju, S.Sn., M.Sn. gave her support for the writing of a book that aims to disseminate information that is easily understood by the wider community. Furthermore, she also stated that the Visual Communication Design Study Program of ISI Yogyakarta will continue to be committed to making real contributions to the government of the Republic of Indonesia. The Head of the Secretariat Bureau of the DPR RI Secretariat General Drs. Mohammad Djazuli, M.Si stated that he hoped that the benchmarking of the DPR RI Memory Book for the 2019-2024 Period could provide input that helped achieve the goal of making the public aware of the DPR RI team's performance in accordance with their latest tagline, namely the New DPR, New Hope. Inputs from academics who became resource persons can provide reinforcement on how the substance of this book should be arranged and provide more value in packaging the substance contained in this book. He also showed great enthusiasm to establish sustainable cooperation with the DKV ISI Yogyakarta Study Program seeing that the communicative interactions during this event had produced positive synergies.
