Malang, May 3-5, 2025 - ASIAN STUDENT FASHION WEEK (ASFW) 2025 officially opened with a series of competition events, the appearance of young designer talents from all over Asia in the fashion world. ASWF was organized by the UM Vocational Faculty Fashion Design Study Program at the Cakrawala Building, State University of Malang. ASFW 2025 is the pinnacle event for fashion students to showcase the best works, collaborating across countries through fashion.
The D4 Study Program of Batik Craft Fashion Design (DMKB), Department of Craft, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta has assigned 3 lecturers and 8 students to participate in the ASIAN STUDENT FASHION WEEK (ASFW) 2025 activities. Several series of activities such as exhibitions, fashion shows, and competitions. The first day was opened with a fashion show of 23 outfits designed by students from several universities in Indonesia, and 15 by Malaysian students, as well as 13 outfits designed by SMK students. The main theme ParadoxalThe young designers were challenged to combine contradictory elements aesthetically and harmoniously. The works presented brought together elements of art, technology, culture, and sustainability as an innovation strategy in the fashion industry. On May 3, 2025, in the Make Up Face Painting Competition, two D4 DMKB students have made proud achievements. Syifa Nikmatus Tsania won 1st place in Make Up Face Painting with the theme "Jok's Macaron" and Ade Dwi Nurdiana won 2nd place in Make Up Face Painting with the theme "Hallowen Bride". Budi Hartono, S.Sn., M.Sn. as the make-up competition supervisor gave a briefing on contemporary make-up styles and motivational spirit for the students.

On May 4, 2025, the Fashion Styling Competition was held through a fashion parade on the fashion show stage. Paradoxal. Ergi Irfansyah, D4 DMKB student has successfully won 2nd place in the Fashion Styling Competition with the theme "The Burning Fire". Tri Wulandari, S.Sn., MA. as the supervisor of the fashion styling competition, gave advice on the use of fabric materials, color composition, fashion design, and styling harmonization. Of the five D4 DMKB students who participated in the Fashion Styling Competition, Ergi Irfansyah was one of the participants who was able to show his best work and compete with domestic and foreign participants, thus winning his victory.
