Viral Poster DKV FSR ISI Yogyakarta Wins Honorable Mention at LIDM 2024

REPOST TRIBUNJOGJA.COM - The Bolanc team from the Visual Communication Design Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta won the runner-up in the 2024 Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM).

The team competed with 689 teams from all campuses in Indonesia and won the runner-up in the Education Digital Poster Division (PDV) category with the poster title 'VIRAL!; Click Raw Bait digested like a Prehistoric mind'.

The LIDM competes in five divisions of education and learning innovation works consisting of the Education Digital Technology Innovation Division (ITDV), Education Digital Learning Innovation Division (IPDP), Education Digital Video Division (VDP), Education Digital Poster Division (PDV), Digital Microteaching Division (MD).

Held at IPB University, this year's LIDM carries the theme 'Digital literacy to develop educators' human resources as national talents towards an advanced Indonesia with a new order of life'.

In the early stages, Team Bolanc successfully eliminated 689 student teams from all over Indonesia to enter the top 20. Furthermore, on June 10-12, 2024, in front of the jury, the Bolanc Team presented their poster design and won the runner-up prize.

Alit Ayu Dewantari, one of the lecturers from the DKV FSR ISI Yogyakarta study program as well as the supervisor of the Bolanc Team expressed her excitement.

"I feel very happy and grateful for what the students have achieved. I really appreciate the hard work that has been taken by the Bolanc Team, and tonight at IPB we can finally get a champion, although the runner-up, but this is proof that in the national arena the creative work of the Bolanc team can be recognized," he said, Wednesday (12/62024) night.

Not only are they champions, but they have also contributed in voicing social messages amidst the cacophony of clicbait that often causes unrest.

Consisting of Maharani Novella, Alfi Sefia Wijaya, Elisabeth Sihite, and Rafi Gesit, all of whom are students of the DKV Study Program class of 2020, the Bolanc Team presents a very impressive digital poster work.

Clickbait is a content headline on the internet that aims to attract attention and generate curiosity so that you click on the content.

Unfortunately, the function of clickbait as an attention-grabber is often misused by not caring about the truth of what is written and not according to the content of the news in it.

Maharani, one of the team members said that through this poster, Team Bolanc wants to invite all Indonesians to be aware of the importance of literacy in the midst of modernization and avoid believing in clickbait.

"Nowadays, do you still fall for clickbait? It's a loss!" he said.

Amid the rise of digital platforms, digital literacy is important to learn and understand. Proficiency in digital literacy can make people wiser in responding and more careful in responding to existing content and news.

The poster designed by Tim Bolanc is not only a form of response to the current phenomenon but also a form of criticism of the current low level of digital literacy.

Alfi Sefia Wijaya, one of the bolanc team members said that to raise public awareness, they designed a poster with a sarcasm approach as a creative solution by placing the main object of pre-literate humans to satirize people who often "digest" raw information and spread it without any willingness to check first.

Targeting young people as the target audience, the bolanc team designed a poster with a semi-realist concept in order to strengthen impressions related to current conditions.

The visual material presented is quite appealing with visual elements that are close to everyday life so that the visual message can be conveyed very well.(*)
