Commemoration of the 67th Anniversary of "ASRI"

On Art Day, January 16, 2017 at Sasana Ajiyasa Building 2nd floor, the 67th anniversary of "ASRI" was held. This event is an annual event organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta to commemorate past history. This event is carried out in rotation every year, on this occasion the committee is the Art Management Department chaired by Arinta Agustina, S.Sn., M.A. who is the Secretary of the Art Management Department. as for the background and objectives of this activity are as follows:
1. Background
The Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts (ASRI), which was established 67 years ago, is the forerunner of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. Since its establishment, FSR ISI Yogyakarta continues to maintain a continuous memory continuity with the initial institution (ASRI) is an obligation that must be done in realizing specific excellence in the field of fine arts. Also relationships with students, lecturers, alumni and retirees. Many great artists and maestros have been born, a series of achievements have been engraved for this country, becoming an unequaled line of history.

Therefore, on this anniversary of ASRI, the committee is called to present to alma mater a movement that reawakens students as assets of this nation by looking back at the history and journey of ASRI to become FSR ISI Yogyakarta. The theme of our activity is titled "Jasmerah; Never Forget History". With the hope that this movement will become a place for students and the wider community to understand the right history.

Purpose & Benefits

  1. Reawaken the sense of nationalism of the younger generation through individual journeys in the history of Indonesian art.
  2. Building a dialectic between generations in work.
  3. Nurturing nationalism values through art.
  4. Inspire the younger generation to be proud to be Indonesian.
  5. Strengthening identity as a sovereign nation with art as a medium of expression.
  6. Prepare future leaders who are patriotic and nationalistic.

Expected Results of this activity are :

  1. Improved relationships and familiarity among lecturers, staff, students, alumni and retirees as an institution.
  2. Increased cooperation and work ethic of all academicians.
  3. Improve the image of the institution in the world of art education in general and the world of fine arts education in particular.
  4. Strengthening the existence of the institution and strengthening relationships with various parties who have intentions in the field of art education.
