In early April 2025, the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta submitted the proceedings of an international seminar. DeKaVeCON: Visual Communication Design International Conference 2024 to the ISI Yogyakarta Library.
Proceedings entitled Proceeding of International Conference of Visual Communication Design: Design, Technology and Local Culture Volume 01 (2024) (ISSN 3089-4255) was symbolically handed over by the Coordinator of DKV Study Program, F. Sherly Taju, S.Sn., M.Sn., and the Chairperson of DeKaVeCON 2024 Committee, Debby Dwi Elsha, S.I.Kom., M.A., to the Head of UPT Library ISI Yogyakarta, Agustiawan, S.S., M.IP.
The international conference that was held on September 18, 2024 was an important academic forum in bringing together academics, practitioners, and design researchers both from within the country and abroad. At the conference, various contemporary issues in the field of visual communication design related to the synergy between design, technology, and local culture became the focus of discussion. It became an important platform for design academics, researchers, and practitioners to exchange ideas around the role of design in bridging technology and local culture.
This proceeding is the inaugural volume containing a collection of scientific papers as a reflection of the collaborative spirit and design sensitivity to the local context in the digital era. The publication of these proceedings is clear evidence of the academic contribution of DKV ISI Yogyakarta in the development of contextual, innovative and transformative design science. This publication is expected to enrich scientific references and encourage innovative research in the field of visual communication design.
