Exactly at 10.20 WIB, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, inaugurated 32 members of the Yogyakarta Cultural Council. A number of members of the Cultural Council are representatives of a number of elements of society, including from the Yogyakarta Palace, Kasunanan Pakualaman, academics, cultural experts, artists, and elements of society.
Of these members, there are 4 ISI Yogyakarta teaching staff in it, including Dr. Suwarno Wisetrotomo, M. Hum, Drs. Anusapati, MFA, Dr. Sumaryono, MA, and Dr. Mikke Susanto, MA. While the cultural element is the name Heri Pemad who is also an alumnus of FSR ISI Yogyakarta.
The task of the DIY Cultural Council is to assist the Governor in carrying out his formal duties in the field of culture. "Culture is not only associated with elements of art, but more generally, for example between the 4 K elements, namely the Yogyakarta Palace, Pakualaman Kadipaten, Campus, Village (community) which are synergistic and convergent in every activity," said Sultan in his speech.
The DIY Cultural Council is divided into 2 tasks: Advisory Board and Curatorial Board. Each has a different task. In general, the concept of culture is not only articulated as a material object. Culture is not only in the form of art, but also language, knowledge systems, and technology, livelihoods and social organization and the formation of a good society.
The concept of curation that is now overshadowed in the Cultural Council is to care or cure or "cure" to maintain, assess and socialize and publish literary and cultural assessment methods. Thus the task of the Cultural Council is very strategic in maintaining the privileges of Yogyakarta.
