Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
Praise our gratitude to God Almighty for the existence of this subdomain of the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. With this portal we convey various information related to the Faculty, Departments and Study Programs contained in our institution.
The Faculty of Fine Arts (FSR) ISI Yogyakarta is the oldest higher education institution for fine arts in Indonesia, born on January 15, 1950 as the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts or ASRI, when it aimed to strengthen and build Indonesian cultural arts and strengthen the sense of nationality. Currently FSR ISI Yogyakarta has three Departments and four Study Programs (Prodi) namely: Pure Fine Arts Department / Study Program, Craft Department with Art Craft Study Program and Design Department with Interior Design Study Program and Visual Communication Design Study Program. Based on its long experience as a provider of higher education in fine arts, the current curriculum aims to produce art creators and scholars who are superior, have personality, creative and innovative as well as skilled in their fields. There is no doubt that as the oldest fine arts academy in Indonesia we have produced many alumni who are involved in various fields of work such as government and private employees, researchers, independent entrepreneurs and excellent practitioners such as artists, craftsmen and designers in Indonesia. The FSR ISI Yogyakarta campus is located in a spacious, shady and beautiful environment, accompanied by various facilities including classrooms, studios, workshops, hot spot as well as exhibition halls in each Study Program. In fiscal year 2011 we are building the "Aji Yasa" Public Lecture and Exhibition Building which will be utilized to accommodate academic and student activities at the Faculty level. Other facilities that will soon be launched in 2011 are a Canteen and Shop to serve the needs of students.
In the coming years FSR ISI Yogyakarta plans to build various kinds of public facilities for students: association rooms, sports activities, arts, nature lovers, health facilities, all this to further activate academic and student life on campus.
The location of the campus in the city of Yogyakarta, which is rich in artistic and cultural traditions, provides many positive values for FSR ISI Yogyakarta students. The many arts and cultural activities that take place in this city can be used as an arena for students to see and be involved in them, dive and absorb the meanings of art directly and naturally. The dynamics of an active and dynamic art life both on campus and in the surrounding environment will provide opportunities for students to meet, communicate, open insights and build networks with many artists, observers and art lovers. The open insights and networks that are built, will be an important provision when students have graduated and have to build their own careers in the community.
With our vision to become a trusted center for artistic development, it is appropriate to state that becoming a student of FSR ISI Yogyakarta is a successful way to become an excellent Indonesian art creator and reviewer..
Thank you
