"Jaring Artropoda" is an exhibition organized by the Directorate of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture through Museum Benteng Vredeburg Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Department of Art Management, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta. This exhibition features installation art by Lutse Lambert Daniel Morin, M.Sn. (artist and Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta) and curated by Dr. Mikke Susanto, M.A..
The exhibition, held at Museum Benteng Vredeburg Yogyakarta, aims to welcome back the public who want to visit the museum in the new normal.
Arthropods, the animal phylum of insects, spiders and the like, live all over the place. They provide markers and symbolization. Among them, spiders release a net that is used to catch prey (a wide partnership web). This long-legged animal has a symbol of being able to go far (ideals or idealism going forward). The red color is presented as a symbol of courage and remembrance of Indonesia's independence on August 17, 2020.
The program is presented as a collaborative exhibition model that links art, museums and history in two concurrent formats: a physical exhibition (outdoor+indoor, on the museum grounds) and a non-physical exhibition (virtual on Instagram).
This agenda was held on August 1 - September 28, 2020.
