Akademi Seni Rupa Indonesia (ASRI), which was established 67 years ago, is the forerunner of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. Many great artists and maestros of Indonesian fine arts have been born, a series of achievements have been engraved for this country, becoming an unequaled line of history. After becoming FSR ISI Yogyakarta, the effort to always maintain a continuous memory continuity with the initial institution (ASRI), becomes a necessity in realizing specific excellence in the field of fine arts. The close and dynamic relationship between students and lecturers with alumni as well as figures and elders, is an inseparable part. The awareness of the importance of understanding history for the next generation is a very important provision for the future leaders of this nation.
Therefore, on this anniversary of ASRI, the committee was called to present from ISI Yogyakarta for Indonesia., a movement that reawakens our memory, especially students, as an asset of this nation by looking back at the history and journey of ASRI to become FSR ISI Yogyakarta. The theme of our activity is titled "Jasmerah; Never Leave History Behind". With the hope that this movement will become a place for students and the wider community to understand the right history.
This exhibition presents works by lecturers, students, alumni, and department collections ranging from Asri figures to the current FSR ISI, such as Fadjar Sidik, Amin Prayitno, Edhi Sunarso, Edi Sunaryo, Butet Kertaradjasa, and student final project works. It is hoped that this exhibition can become a beautiful dialectical space in all its dynamics for the world of fine arts, especially FSR ISI YK, and the wider community.
