The Craft Student Association of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Institut Seni Indonesi (HMJ Kriya FSR ISI) held the Kriya Award 2016. This annual agenda will be followed by students majoring in Craft from universities in Indonesia.
Chairperson of Kriya Awards 2016, Noni Widyaningsih said Kriya Awards 2016 has been held since 2014. This activity will be divided into four categories of work, Best Product Craft, Best Expression, Most Innovated and Most Favorite.
Noni said that since the last event was held in 2015, there have been many questions from campuses around Jogja and the community regarding the re-organization of this event. This reaction, she said, showed that the event was indeed awaited by the public.
"The event is not just a competition. There are seminars, murals, workshops, fashion shows and others. Especially for December 3-9, there will be a Green Garden in the form of installation art at the ISI Campus, while the Craft Awards will be held December 8-10 at the Jogja National Museum (JNM)," he explained during an audience at Griya Harian Jogja, Tuesday (8/11/2016).
Kriya Awards 2016, Muhammad Nurrudin, will be attended by seventh semester students from the Craft department.
"The participants vary, there are also those from Institut Seni Solo [ISI] Solo, UNS [Sebelas Maret State University], Unnes [Semarang State University], IKJ [Jakarta Institute of Arts] and others," he added.
The invited guests for this event were around 300 people. The number consists of participants, lecturers and artists.
