The delegation of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta led by the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Design, M. Sholahudin, S.Sn., M.T., accompanied by Assistant Rector II, PD I, PD II, PD III FSRD, study program secretaries, FSRD lecturer representatives, and Public Relations of ISI Yogyakarta was assigned to establish cooperation with 2 Universities in Malaysia.
The first visit, Wednesday, December 27, 2023, the delegation left for the island of Pinang Malaysia to visit Universiti Sains Malaysia. This visit is in order to establish cooperation between FSRD ISI Yogyakarta and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), various programs offered by each study program and faculty, one of which is a student exchange program. The visit was warmly welcomed by the Center for Art Studies, USM, led by Prof. Madya Dr. Sarena binti Abdullah. In addition to discussing cooperation programs, this meeting also held an exhibition of several artworks of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta students and lecturers in the lobby hallway of the Art Study Center Building.
The second visit in Malaysia, Thursday, December 28, 2023. The delegation of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta visited Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Malaysia (UPSI), welcomed very warmly by Dr. Norzuraina bt. Mohd. Nor, Director of the UPSI Cultural Center. In addition, at the old campus of the Faculty of Arts, Sustainability & Creative Industries (FSKIK), the FSRD ISI Yogyakarta delegation was also welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Zaffwan bin Idris as Dean of FSKIK and his staff.
This visit was not only to establish cooperation between institutions, but also to hold an Art Talk and exhibition at the UPSI Cultural Center building. Art talk with the title 'The Power of Indonesia's Local Colors in Architectural Interior Design' was delivered by our speaker Mahdi Nurcahyo, S.Sn., M.A., from the Interior Design Study Program, FSRD, ISI Yogyakarta. There was also an exhibition of works from students and lecturers of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta. The UPSI academic community was very enthusiastic in listening to the Art Talk and enjoying the works on display.
Thank you for the wonderful welcome and hospitality from Pusat Pengajian Seni, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Fakulti Seni, Kelestarian & Industri Kreatif, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia. Hopefully this collaboration will become closer and more beneficial for both parties.
