Arif Budiman's interview with Drs. Umar Hadi, MS (Assistant Dean I FSR ISI Yogyakarta)
ISI Yogyakarta renewed the system of paying tuition fees, SPP and Variable SKS (KRS). In the 2012/2013 academic year, the payment of tuition fees is made in one payment only, this system is known as the Single Academic Fee (UAT).
The transition of the payment system has been carried out in the payment of academic fees this semester. To find out how much money must be paid, students can find out after filling out the Study Plan Card (KRS).
"This change in payment system aims to make things easier for students. There is no need to pay tuition fees twice to the bank. Just one time is enough. Then, the KRS filling can be done earlier," said Assistant Dean I of the Faculty of Fine Arts Drs. Umar Hadi, M.S.
If students find it difficult with this new method, it is still normal because it is a transition period from the old system to the new one. So you need to adapt first.
"In order not to be confused, we ask students to obey the rules that have been set. August 27-29, KRS filling consultation with the Wali Lecturer. September 3-5, 2012, payment period for fixed and variable tuition fees at BNI. September 6-7, 2012, KRS approval by the Guardian Lecturer and Head of Department," said the visual communication design lecturer.
The convenience of this new system, said Umar, is that students can then pay tuition fees and KRS. "So students consult KRS first with the homeroom lecturer, after the KRS is deemed appropriate, then pay it off to the bank," he explained.
This is different from the previous method which asked students to pay SPP first and then be able to KRS. After KRS is complete, they are asked to pay Variable SPP to the Bank again. "This new method is done to shorten and simplify from the previous one," said Umar.
Homecoming Students, Head to Jogja
Umar also asked students who were going home for Eid, especially out of Java, to immediately arrange a return schedule to Jogjakarta, before or during the KRS filling and SPP repayment period. This appeal was conveyed by Umar, so that students do not visit the agenda that has been set by the campus.
"We hope that students who go home can be in Jogja during the KRS filling period. Indeed, during those times, the price of Lebaran return transportation rates is very high. That's why you should plan your return date to Jogja from now on," he advised.
Even if they cannot return on the date of filling out the KRS, the student concerned can consult the campus (guardian lecturer) about the difficulties experienced.
"Always and always coordinate with their guardian lecturers (students-ed). What must be remembered is that on September 6-7, KRS has been approved by the guardian lecturer and the head of the department. That is the final process, whether the student is registered as an active or inactive student," said Umar. (***)
