FSR Holds International Exhibition Participated by 5 Countries

The Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta held an international exhibition entitled TRANS-FORM(A)OTION which was opened by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. on May 25, 2025, at Geleri R.J. Katamsi ISI Yogyakarta, from 19.00 to 21.00. The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Vice Rector I, Vice Rector II, Vice Rector III, the Deans of ISI Yogyakarta, artists, alumni and students of ISI Yogyakarta. At the opening of the exhibition, invited guests and exhibition visitors were presented with extraordinary works of art and a fashion show of D4 Fashion Design Kriya Batik students.

The art exhibition titled "TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" was held in order to enliven the 8th Lustrum or 40th anniversary, ISI Yogyakarta. The exhibition features a variety of works of art, design, craft, fashion, and digital art, ranging from traditional to contemporary styles by lecturers, students, alumni and international cooperation partners of FSR ISI Yogyakarta. According to Muhamad Sholahuddin, S.T., M.T. as Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta, international cooperation partners who participated in this exhibition came from 8 foreign universities from 5 countries which included Bunditpatanasilpa Institute (Thailand), Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) (China), Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University (Thailand), Eszterházy Károly Catholic University (Hungary), Indonesia Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (Indonesia), Silpakorn Fine Arts University (Thailand), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) (Malaysia), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) (Malaysia), Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia).

The international exhibition titled "TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" consists of three series of exhibition activities including an International Fine Art Exhibition featuring the works of students, lecturers, alumni from the Study Program at the Faculty of Fine Arts Yogyakarta, a fashion show and a creative workshop that embodies the mission of recycling, said Endro Tri Susanto, M.Sn. as Chair of the Fine Art Exhibition. In this workshop the creators will share knowledge on how to utilize the waste around us as a medium for art and creative works, focusing on the importance of processing, recycling and transforming products that are not only useful, but also help protect the environment. The workshop will be attended by ISI Yogyakarta students and international students who are currently participating in student exchange and Darmasiswa programs.

The exhibition titled "TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" is open to the general public and free of charge. People who want to see the exhibition can visit the R.J. Katamsi Gallery and the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta, from May 25 to 31, 2024, from 10:00 to 16:00 WIB every day.
