Saturday, May 25, 2024 will be the opening of a visual art exhibition themed "Trans-form(a)otion", a celebration of ISI Yogyakarta's 8th Lustrum. This exhibition theme combines two broad dimensions of meaning to provide an overview of transformation in the visual arts: Trans-Formation and Trans for Motion. There are three series of exhibition activities including the International Fine Arts Exhibition which displays the works of students, lecturers, alumni from the Study Program at the Faculty of Fine Arts Yogyakarta and is also attended by 8 foreign universities from 5 countries which include Bunditpatanasilpa Institute (Thailand), Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) (China), Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University (Thailand), Eszterházy Károly Catholic University (Hungary), Indonesia Institute of The Arts Yogyakarta (Indonesia), Silpakorn Fine Arts University (Thailand), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) (Malaysia), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) (Malaysia), Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia).
The exhibition "Trans-Form(a)otion" is not only about seeing visual works, but also about feeling and engaging in the movement of ideas, thoughts, and expressions conveyed through various mediums both physical and digital, from 2 (two) dimensional and 3 (three) dimensional works in space (indoor) to intermedia held at RJ Katamsi gallery, ISI Yogyakarta. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor works in the area of the Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta. This exhibition takes place from May 25-31, 2024 at 10.00-16.00 (holidays remain open).
The second activity is a creative workshop related to the creative recycling mission, which is an activity in the context of utilizing waste around the environment as a medium for artistic and creative works, focusing on the importance of processing, recycling and converting products that are not only useful, but also help protect the environment. This activity is divided into two days with the first day's target participants are high school / vocational school students in the neighborhood around ISI Yogyakarta. As well as workshops on the second day with participants representing ISI Yogyakarta students, Faculty of Fine Arts (FSR), Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP), Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), and invited student participants from several campuses in Yogyakarta. This activity took place on May 27, 2024, at the FSR Plaza Page, ISI Yogyakarta. The third activity, namely the fashion show, was held in the RJ Katamsi gallery yard by displaying 20 of the best fashion works of Craft and Batik Craft Fashion Design (DMKB) FSR ISI Yogyakarta students. This fashion show enlivened the opening of the "Trans-Form(a)otion" exhibition on May 25, 2024 at 19.00 WIB at the RJ Katamsi Gallery, ISI Yogyakarta.
