From Inclusion to Independence: ISI Yogyakarta Hands Over Production Machines to Avta Mandiri

Sleman, November 19, 2025 - An atmosphere of emotion and pride enveloped the Avta Mandiri Creative Studio in Prambanan on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. In the presence of members of the disabled community, lecturers, and students of ISI Yogyakarta, three main tools; machine laser cuttingA wood engraving CNC machine, and a generator set were officially handed over as a form of support for the sustainability of the Nusantara Art Innovation Program (PISN) 2025.

The handover was carried out directly by the ISI Yogyakarta service team led by Nandang Septian, M.Ds., and witnessed by the Head of the Innovation and Publishing Center, Riza Septriani Dewi, S.Ds., M.Ds. This event symbolizes the collaboration between the academic world and the community in presenting real solutions for the independence of disability groups in the creative industry sector.

Riza in his speech expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the entire team.

"Empowerment like this proves that art universities have social responsibility. ISI Yogyakarta not only produces artists and designers, but also agents of social change," he said.

For Avta Mandiri members, these tools are not just machines, but the key to a new future. "We have been working manually and often had difficulty fulfilling orders. Now we have our own tools and can produce faster," said Sukamto, Chairman of Avta Mandiri.

One of the members, Yosep, also expressed his pride when he touched the laser machine, which was his first time seeing it up close. "I can't wait to learn how to use it. It feels like turning over a new leaf," he said with a big smile.

The head of the organizing team, Nandang Septian, closed the event with a simple reflection.

"We believe that true inclusion begins when people are given the tools and trust to chart their own course."

With the handover of this tool, ISI Yogyakarta emphasizes its commitment to continue to foster innovations that favor diversity and independence, making Avta Mandiri an example that creativity has no physical limits.
