About Us
Craft is a branch of Fine Arts that grows and develops based on the nobility of the nation's cultural roots. The nobleness of this culture inspires the creation of works of art to meet functional and / or non-functional needs which in the process of realization are made creatively, innovatively, accompanied by high craftmanship.
The Craft Study Program has been accredited A by BAN PT which aims to produce graduates who are able to live national cultural values, master various media and craft techniques to create creative and innovative products, and are able to interact with other sciences and have broad insight in accordance with the demands of the times. The Craft Study Program is responsible for the preservation of the nation's cultural wealth and can become a world parameter in terms of craft development. In addition, the Craft program also contributes to the aesthetic intelligence of culture in accordance with the movement of the times.
Fostering and developing craft art in Indonesia in line with the development of art, science, and technology with an environmental and cultural perspective of the Indonesian nation through education in the field of creation and study of art crafts.
Career Outlook
Graduates of the S-1 Craft Study Program are prepared to be able to work professionally as independent craftsmen who are reliable in their fields. They are expected to be reliable educators, researchers, designers, entrepreneurs, and craft artists. Therefore, the study program periodically asks feedback from alumni, graduate users and other related stakeholders, so that the existing curriculum can always be adjusted to the needs of the community. stakeholder, while maintaining idealism and the basics of craft knowledge and skills.
Graduates of the S-1 Craft Program are able to produce/create traditional and modern craft works, as well as create functional craft works to meet the needs or follow the tastes that develop in society. Graduates are able to master techniques in making art craft works correctly, both traditional techniques and techniques that are currently developing. Likewise, explore and design new ideas by considering aesthetic values and referring to craft values that are rooted in society. With the distribution of existing courses, graduates are also able to be professional in their work, understand the function of design, the character of materials, the symbolic meanings that are still rooted in society, so that the works created not only fulfill functional aspects but also fulfill other aspects that still uphold the nation's cultural arts.
Seeing relevance and need stakeholder It can be concluded that graduates of this study program by looking at the potential and needs in the world of work are needed expertise. This is evidenced by the rapid growth of the business world in the field of crafts, for example batik which is now booming in Indonesia.
