Repost WartaKita.org - Art activists Temanku Lima Benua got the opportunity to design the Waste Bank Cup which was handed over by Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar at the 2024 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) on Waste Management, Hazardous and Toxic Substances (B3) at JW Marriot Hotel Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7/2024).
"I am grateful for the opportunity to design the Waste Bank Cup from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry," he said on Tuesday (16/7/2024) evening.
The student of the Art Management Department of the Indonesian Institute of Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta said that the process of designing and making the Waste Bank Cup took 12 days and produced 10 trophies.
"(The design of) the Waste Bank Cup starts from the root of the waste problem, which is people. So what has to be improved is the people, the mindset, mindset-her. That mindset-It must grow or growth, no fixed. By paying attention to the 3Rs, recycle, reduce, and reuse," he said.

This woman who is familiarly called Liben explained, if the world wants to zero waste and zero emissionTherefore, the community must start waste management from home.
"WellThe 3Rs are the cornerstone in understanding climate change So in the trophy, I designed the human form with three pillars. The three pillars are recycle, reduce, and reuse," he explained.
The resident of Dukuh Geritan, Belang Wetan Village, Klaten Utara District, Klaten Regency, said that in this Waste Bank Cup there is a circle in the middle.
"The circle in the middle has a picture of a house. This means that if you want to zero waste and zero emission it has to start from home. And the circle means zero, and means earth. That when we can manage the waste, then we will be able to inhibit the entropy of the earth. Well, the bottom platform in the statue means the basis for understanding climate change and earth mitigation," he explained.
Liben said there is a difference between the Waste Bank Cup and other trophies.
"What distinguishes the Waste Bank Cup from other trophies is that the Waste Bank Cup is designed starting from the philosophy and meaning, then the manufacturing technique. This trophy is made of brass," he said.

He added that the design and creation of the Waste Bank Cup is a form of his concern for environmental art.
"So from the start of the Biennale Bank Sampah in 2020, Eco Art in 2022, and my thesis entitled Designing Displai Pre Biennale Klaten 2024 'Environmetal Art', and continued to design this award trophy for Bank Sampah," he said.
For the record, Liben passed her thesis in May, and will graduate in September.
"While waiting for graduation, I had the opportunity to design the Waste Bank award trophies for the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry. And today, July 16, the trophies were awarded to the 3 Best Parent Waste Banks in Indonesia, and 4 Best Unit Waste Banks in Indonesia. This makes me proud," he said.
