Icha Olivia, a student from the D-4 Batik Craft Fashion Design study program, will present fashion with a Ready-to-Wear Muslim Apparel theme at JMFW 2023. JMFW 2023 will also be broadcast via the YouTube channels of the Ministry of Trade and Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week.
Fashion ready-to-wear Muslim is ready-to-wear fashion that does not require fitting and can be used anytime and anywhere. On this occasion, Icha Olivia presents several types of ready-to-wear fashion inspired by Korean women's lifestyle, which are modest outfits that also serve as modern Muslim wear. In her various fashion creations, Icha Olivia incorporates elements of Liring and Tabuik batik motifs. Liring is a ceplok batik motif that depicts the lines of fate and the order of life, suggesting that life in this world already has rules and guidelines. Therefore, it is hoped that the wearer of this batik can live a more organized life. The Liring batik resembles Korean culture in its weaving-like patterns. In addition, there is the creation of the Tabuik batik motif. Tabuik refers to a festival event in West Sumatra, in the city of Pariaman, where the tabuik holds various meanings, and these meanings are the basis for the creation of the batik motif.
Icha Olivia will perform with students from 12 vocational education institutions. The students and the vocational education institutions that will perform in JMFW 2023 include ISBI Bandung, Akademi Kesejahteraan Sosial Ibu Kartini Semarang, SMK Syubbanul Wathon, SMK N 3 Magelang, SMK NU 2 Kedungpring, SMK N 1 Batu, ISWI Fashion Academy, SMK N 1 Kasreman Ngawi, SMK Cendika Bangsa Kepanjen, SMK NU Banat Kudus, and Universitas Kristen Maranatha. The achievements of Icha Olivia and her colleagues are proof that products created by vocational education students can be readily accepted by the market.
