Supporting Campus Independence & Reputation, ISI Yogyakarta Holds Technical Guidance on the Establishment of Business Unit Organizations

Bantul, October 15, 2025 – In order to accelerate institutional transformation, the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta is holding a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on the Formation of Business Unit Organizations. This activity, which took place on Wednesday, 10/15/2025 at the Sasana Ajiyasa Building, Faculty of Fine Arts & Design, is a strategic step in supporting the Revitalization of State Universities (PTN) program and strengthening institutional financial governance and competitiveness on a national and international scale.

This training was attended in person by the top leadership of ISI Yogyakarta, including the Rector, Vice Rectors, Deans, Director of Postgraduate Studies, as well as heads of technical implementing units and bureaus. The keynote speakers were T. M. Zakir Sjakur Machmud, M.Ec., Ph.D. (Director of Management and Development of Business Units at Universitas Indonesia) and Teguh Eko Winiharto, S.T., M.M., who shared insight Strategic perspective on the development and management of Business Units based on Public Service Agencies (PSAs) within higher education institutions.

In his remarks, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta emphasized that the establishment of the Business Unit is a key pillar for achieving financial independence and improving the quality of art education services. “This initiative is not just about asset optimization, but a strategy to broaden social impact, empower the community, and simultaneously carve out ISI Yogyakarta's reputation at a global level,” he asserted.

This activity is also an integral part of the implementation of the ISI Yogyakarta Business Strategic Plan 2020-2024, which marks the transformation phase towards becoming a Public Service Agency (PTN-BLU). Through the development of Business Units, ISI Yogyakarta plans to optimize ten potential areas, including Edutourism, Entertainment & Art Performances, Infrastructure Rental, Art Training and Certification, Art Production, Digital & Creative Media Services, and Art Business Incubation and SME Support.

According to Reza Ginandha Sakti, M.Sn., the Event Coordinator, this workshop not only focuses on improving leadership and unit management capacity, but also becomes platform Identify sustainable business potentials in the campus environment. “With a professional and accountable approach, the ISI Yogyakarta Business Unit is expected to become a driver of the creative economy rooted in Indonesia's artistic and cultural richness,” he explained.

Through this strategic step, ISI Yogyakarta further affirms its commitment as a superior, adaptive, and highly competitive art college, supported by a modern management system that aligns with the vision towards World Class University.
