Overseas students (boarding/contracting students) are one of the affected citizens in the current period of social restrictions. Not all boarding students have cooking equipment. In this time of limited stalls, their access to basic needs including food and daily necessities is experiencing obstacles. FSR ISI Yogyakarta took the initiative to raise funds from lecturers, employees and alumni to help FSR ISI Yogyakarta students who are in boarding houses and rentals around campus. The funds collected until Friday, April 10, 2020 were Rp. 19,666,115, -. Donations are still open until April 15, 2020. From the temporary data collection of students who are around the campus, there are around 200 students, who are scattered in the area around the campus. The initial assistance was carried out on Friday, April 10, 2020 by distributing food for 100 packages, followed by Saturday, April 11, 2020 distributing 200 packages of food, and Sunday, April 12, 2020 distributing 240 packages of food and masks.
The distribution team, consisting of employees and lecturers, strives to maintain the principle of ‘physical distancing’ during food distribution, by paying attention to safety, hygiene, and health regulations. Subsequently, on Monday, April 13, 2020, students will be given basic necessities and food packages, which are expected to last for a week. Of course, this is only a temporary solution. As Ramadan approaches, it will be increasingly difficult for students to get ready-to-eat meals because many food stalls will be closed. Going forward, the solidarity team is still considering what solutions can be implemented, given the restrictions on public activities (like communal kitchens) and the unpredictable duration of this situation.
