Bantul, April 13, 2026 – The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta held a Thanksgiving Event for Achievements as a form of appreciation for various academic and institutional accomplishments, while also marking the important momentum of the opening of the Master of Design Program. This event was held on Monday (04/13) at 10:00 AM Western Indonesian Time, located on the 1st floor of the Dean's Building at FSRD ISI Yogyakarta.
The event was attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design (FSRD) ISI Yogyakarta. It also invited various leaders and academic community members, including administrative staff from the rectorate, the Rector and Vice Chancellors of ISI Yogyakarta, the Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP), the Dean of the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (FSMR), and student representatives from BEM ISI Yogyakarta. The presence of these various elements reflects strong institutional support for FSRD's achievements and future development.
This thanksgiving serves as a reflection of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta's success in achieving various strategic accomplishments on the international level. One such achievement is the attainment of FIBAA international accreditation for several study programs, namely Interior Design, Visual Communication Design, Product Design, Fine Arts, Crafts, and Art Management. Furthermore, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta also successfully entered the QS World University Rankings by Subject: Art & Design with a global ranking of 150–200, further strengthening the institution's reputation on a global level.
This thanksgiving event also officially marks the opening of the Master's Program in Design at FSRD ISI Yogyakarta. The presence of this program is expected to expand the space for design scholarship development based on research, innovation, and interdisciplinary approaches. In his welcoming remarks, the Dean of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta, Mr. Muhamad Shohahuddin, S.Sn., M.T., stated, “The achievement we are celebrating today is the fruit of collaboration, consistency, and mutual commitment. The opening of the Master's Program in Design is a strategic step to bring FSRD to a higher level in the development of design scholarship and practice.”
He also added, “We hope this program can generate design ideas that are not only academically excellent but also relevant to the needs of the community and industry.”
Meanwhile, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Mr. Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., in his speech stated, “These international achievements and the opening of the master's program show that ISI Yogyakarta continues to move forward and adapt to global changes. This is an important momentum to strengthen our position as a leading and competitive arts institution.”
He also emphasized that the challenges ahead are not just about opening programs, but ensuring their quality, relevance, and sustainability. He is confident that FSRD is capable of meeting these challenges.
This event is not only a celebration but also a moment to strengthen synergy among the academic community in building an excellent and sustainable design education ecosystem. The participation of various parties, from lecturers and university leaders to students, demonstrates a collective spirit in driving the institution's progress. As part of the festive occasion, the committee also provided door prize interesting to the participants present.
