Intellectual Property Development Workshop - Inaugural Workshop of Media Design Study Program ISI Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, ISI - The Media Design Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) ISI Yogyakarta, held its first workshop entitled "Intellectual Property Development" on October 3-4, 2024. This workshop aims to equip students with knowledge about visual identity and intellectual property protection in the digital era.

Edi Jatmiko, S.Sn., M.Sn., coordinator of the Media Design study program, explained that the rapid development of the digital world makes digital assets an important commodity. "Almost all fields of work require digital asset empowerment. Through this workshop, students are expected to learn from the industry and focus on developing visual assets while protecting their intellectual property," he said.

The event was opened by the Dean of FSRD, Muhammad Sholahuddin, S.Sn., M.T., and attended by more than 60 participants. This workshop presented competent speakers, namely Feri Akbar (@woketoon) and Aprilia (@heyapriliaa). Feri, a well-known illustrator with his unique style, discussed the importance of visual identity in building a brand, while Aprilia, who is also an illustrator and content creator, explained personal branding strategies and the need to protect intellectual property in the digital world.

By holding this workshop, it is hoped that students of Media Design Study Program can improve their competence in creating visual assets that are relevant to agencies, designers, marketers, and the wider community, both at the national and international levels.
