Proudly! ISI Yogyakarta Interior Design Lecturers and Alumni Reach Achievement in Sustainable Furniture Design Competition

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Tikamoon and Hafele are working together to promote sustainable furniture to all designers in Indonesia and increase the interest in sustainable furniture to the public through a program called the Indonesia Sustainable Furniture Design Competition (ISFDC). The final announcement of the Design Competition Champion is on September 14, 2024 at ICE BSD City.

Three hundred works from professional designers who entered the assessment stage, then selected strictly by the Jury (Tikamoon France, Hafele, and FSC). ISI Yogyakarta interior design lecturers and alumni were able to make brilliant achievements in this prestigious event. Mahdi Nurcahyo and Hanna Taslima won 3rd place in furniture design by carrying out a sustainable concept through the design of the "Terra" brand collection inspired by the contours of the terraces in Subak Bali as an implementation of local cultural values and designs that prioritize aspects of material efficiency, functionality and effective use of energy.

ISFDC is a golden opportunity for professional designers to enhance their role in sustainable forest strategies by creating furniture designs that use sustainably sourced materials so that forest managers, from forest farmers in remote villages to remote forests, can be helped through design formulations that appeal to consumer tastes, and increase the growth of the green economy in the world.

Through this design competition, it encourages students, academics, and young Indonesian designers to continue to produce sustainable innovation works.
