Thursday (05/09/2024) at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta, the 2024 National Palm Batik Design competition was held. This event was organized by Smart batik - Dekranas-Batik Sawit and supported by the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency - BPDPKS with the aim of encouraging the development of the palm batik industry, as well as introducing the potential of palm oil derivative products to the public. Where the results of palm oil processing filters, which are considered as waste, can be utilized as palm malam, which can be used for batik cloth production materials, it has been announced.
In the competition Aruman, S.Sn., M.A. who is a lecturer in the Craft Department of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta, won the competition with his work entitled "BATIK SAWIT LESTARI".
The event is not only a competition, but also a creative space for batik artisans to introduce new variations in the world of batik art, as well as expand the local to international market.
