On July 8, 2024, the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta made a collaborative visit to the Royal College of Art or what we know as the RCA. The Royal College of Art is a public research university in London, England, with campuses in South Kensington, Battersea and White City. It is the only fully postgraduate art and design university in the United Kingdom. The RCA offers postgraduate degrees in art and design and has students from more than 60 countries. The visit of the FSR ISI Yogyakarta delegation at the RCA was received by Professor Rachel Garfield as Director of the RCA Doctoral Program, and RCA doctoral program student Martin Bonney. In her remarks Prof. Rachel Garfield said Welcome to the No. 1 University of Art and Design in the world. Prof. Rachel said in her speech that every year the RCA looks for students who have a creative background and or who are changing professions. Prof. Rachel also said that students who study at the RCA will get unparalleled opportunities to improve their training, build their networks, overcome real-world challenges, and enhance their careers. FSR ISI Yogyakarta is very proud to be able to collaborate with RCA because RCA as the Number 1 University in the world in the Subject of Visual Art and Design, wants to welcome the request for a visit from FSR ISI Yogyakarta which is currently ranked 151-200 in QS by Subject Visual Art and Design. During this visit the ISI Yogyakarta delegation was invited to a campus tour to visit all teaching and learning facilities at the RCA campus in South Kensington. After the RCA campus tour the event continued with a joint meeting. In the meeting Prof. Rachel explained the curriculum and learning activities at RCA. The delegation of FSR ISI Yogyakarta submitted a request for cooperation and MoU as well as an IA Plan that could begin immediately as an opening for cooperation between ISI Yogyakarta and RCA. For the first IA activity, FSR ISI Yogyakarta submitted a request to Prof. Rachel to be a speaker at the ARCADESA Symposium which will be held in Yogyakarta on September 27-28, 2024 at the Ajiyasa Building FSR ISI Yogyakarta and Alana Hotel Yogyakarta. Prof. Rachel expressed her willingness to be a speaker at the Symposium and scheduled other activities such as Joint Research, Lecturer Exchange and Student Exchange. The visit at the RCA ended with a group photo and warm tea accompanied by the rain that fell that afternoon in South Kensington. Thank you RCA, hopefully this cooperation plan can improve the quality of learning at FSR ISI Yogyakarta and can increase the QS World by Subject ranking of FSR ISI Yogyakarta.
