CREATIVE WORKSHOP ON UTILIZING NON-ORGANIC WASTE

The Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta in the framework of the 8th Lustrum of ISI Yogyakarta, on Monday, May 27, 2024 held a Creative Workshop on the Utilization of Non-Organic Waste at the Plaza (courtyard), Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta which was opened by the Dean of FSR ISI Yogyakarta, M. SHolahuddin, M.T.. The purpose of this activity is to utilize waste around the environment as a medium for artistic and creative works. Where focusing on the importance of processing, recycling and turning it into products that are not only useful, but also help protect the environment.

The creative workshop activity consisted of 8 groups attended by students of SMA N 1 Sewon, SMA N 3 Bantul, and students from Fine Arts Education, Faculty of Language Arts & Culture UNY, Special Education, Faculty of Education & Psychology UNY, Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program FKIP UAD, Architect Study Program, Faculty of Architecture & Design UKDW and UGM Yogyakarta, as well as collaboration of student representatives from FSR, FSP, FMSR and foreign students of ISI Yogyakarta. The participants worked together and collaborated to produce 8 works that were creative, unique and certainly very interesting.

The speaker in this workshop was Laksmi Shitaresmi. Laksmi is an artist, performance artist, waste and environmental activist, as well as a feminist, women and gender activist. Born in Yogyakarta on May 9, she has been passionate about all fields of art and culture since she was a child. Completed his undergraduate education in 2000 at ISI Yogyakarta, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Fine Arts. He has studied at UGM Yogyakarta and ISI Yogyakarta Postgraduate Program in Sculpture. His research at the Postgraduate Program is the processing of organic and non-organic waste into fine art works.

By organizing this activity, it is hoped that it can be useful, namely providing opportunities for participants to be creative and gain interesting artistic experiences. And participants can also feel the excitement of the 8th Lustrum celebration of ISI Yogyakarta. In addition, the activity
