Antusiasme mahasiswa, khususnya mahasiswa baru, terlihat sepanjang sesi.

From Campus to Japan’s Creative Industry: Gridge Inc. and Victor Entertainment Visit Tata Kelola Seni

As part of the 2026 Tata Kelola Seni Family Gathering, Arts Management Study Program welcomed special guests from Japan: Gridge Inc. and Victor Entertainment.

Their presence marked one of the special moments in Arts Management’s annual event. While the Grand Family Gathering is typically filled with competitions, games, curriculum introductions, department facilities and infrastructure tours, and an introduction to the Arts Management Student Association, this year students had the opportunity to interact directly with partners and professionals from Japan’s creative industry. The visit also served as a meeting ground for the academic world, students, and the creative industry in a relaxed atmosphere filled with conversation.

Gridge Inc.’s presence at the Department of Arts Management was not a chance encounter. Previously, Gridge had collaborated with the Arts Management program on several activities. One Arts Management student is currently completing an internship at Gridge, while several other students have previously volunteered in organizing Cherry Pop. Meanwhile, Victor Entertainment is one of Gridge’s clients that previously brought their musicians to perform at this year’s Cherry Pop.

This gathering also served as an opportunity to reconnect, share experiences, and strengthen the relationships that have been built. The series of visits took place over several sessions. First, the students had the opportunity to participate in a sharing session with students from the Arts Management program who had previously been involved in Cherry Pop, as well as students currently interning at Gridge.

This session provided an opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of what it’s like to work in the creative industry—from what it’s like to be part of a professional project and the challenges faced during an internship to an overview of the professional world students might encounter after completing their studies.

The students’ enthusiasm—especially that of the freshmen—was evident throughout the session. A variety of questions arose, creating a relaxed and lively discussion atmosphere. The discussion then continued during a sharing session with Gridge Inc. and Victor Entertainment. The conversation didn’t just focus on work experiences in the industry but also expanded to a topic close to the students’ daily lives: music.

They discussed music currently popular in Indonesia, the development of the music industry, and how Japanese music is received by the Indonesian public, particularly among the younger generation. This exchange of perspectives provided a fascinating experience for the students. They not only gained an academic understanding of the creative industry but also saw how international industry professionals interpret market trends and music culture in Indonesia.

For the students, this meeting also opened their eyes to the fact that opportunities to create don’t stop at the local level. The creative industry has an extensive network and can even connect students with various parties from other countries. Following a series of discussions and the sharing of experiences, the visit continued with a campus tour. Representatives from Gridge Inc. and Victor Entertainment were invited to get a closer look at the environment where Arts Management students learn and develop various creative ideas.

This tour wasn’t just about introducing the campus to guests from Japan; it was also part of an effort to showcase the academic environment and the creative ecosystem thriving within it. The visits by Gridge Inc. and Victor Entertainment during the 2026 Arts Governance Family Gathering demonstrated that relationships between the campus and the industry can be built through various forms of engagement—from casual conversations and internship experiences to volunteer activities and event collaborations.

The students’ enthusiasm throughout the event also highlights the younger generation’s strong interest in opportunities to learn and create within the broader creative industry ecosystem. This visit is one of the steps expected to open up greater possibilities in the future. More collaborations—whether in the form of internship programs, creative activities, knowledge exchanges, or joint projects—can provide new experiences and opportunities for Arts Management students. The Arts Management network is gradually connecting not only with the domestic creative industry but also beginning to reach out to international partners.
