Greetings to all of us, Om Swastiastu, Namo Buddhaya, Greetings of Virtue and Rahayu.

Praise and thanks be to God Almighty, in March 2026 QS World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject - Art & Design 2026 has been announced. In 2026, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta is in cluster#151–200 # in the world for the field Art & Design, where this achievement indeed experienced a rank decrease from last year's 2025 ranking in the#cluster 101-150#or precisely at rank # 112 # in the world. This achievement for FSRD ISI Yogyakarta is not just a statistical figure, but for FSRD, it is a manifestation of intellectual steadfastness, aesthetic depth, and validation of the fine arts and design discourse that FSRD has been building.

This achievement also solidifies the position of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta on the map of the top 50 in Asia and the top 20 in Southeast Asia. However, more than that, FSRD's achievement in global discourse alongside institutions of caliber Royal College of Art indicates that the paradigm of art and design education that we embrace, which combines the richness of local genius with contemporary methodologies having universal relevance. Furthermore, FSRD's achievement in the QS WUR serves as a foundation for FSRD ISI Yogyakarta to undergo a more responsive curriculum transformation. FSRD plans to strengthen its digital laboratories, IT-Arts based research, and interdisciplinary collaborations between fine arts and design with data science. FSRD wants the world to see that at ISI Yogyakarta, technology does not kill tradition, and AI does not replace artists, but rather, in our hands, technology is a new canvas that expands the horizons of humanity.

This achievement in the QS WUR 2026 World Top 200 comes at a time when the world of art and design higher education is currently being tested by extraordinary technological disruption, namely acceleration Artificial Intelligence (AI). As an institution now globally recognized, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta does not see AI as a threat to originality, but rather as an expansion of cognitive space.Augmented creativity) for artists and designers. FSRD's inclusion in this global elite cluster demands FSRD to lead the discourse on how digital and IT technologies are not only used as tools (tool), but as a dialogue partner in the creative process. FSRD must be able to formulate new ethics and aesthetics where noble human intuition collaborates with algorithmic efficiency.

There are five QS WUR indicators, starting from academic reputation to international research network, reflecting that the academic ecosystem at FSRD ISI Yogyakarta is no longer insular. FSRD has succeeded in transforming artistic practice into scientific work recognized by the global community, where every work is research and every design is a solution to humanity's problems. Although we at FSRD celebrate this achievement, I want to emphasize that ranking is not the ultimate goal.goal), but rather a compass. FSRD's future vision is to become the world's adaptive gravitational center of creativity, where FSRD must not be trapped in the euphoria of numbers, but instead must deepen the penetration of international collaborative research and strengthen H-index through widely impactful publications.

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design is currently moving towards a phase where ISI Yogyakarta becomes an institution that transdisciplinary which is to blend the boundaries between artistic tradition with technological innovation and environmental sustainability. Global-Sovereign, namely being able to compete globally without losing cultural sovereignty and local aesthetic character which are the roots of our strength as an Indonesian nation and Impactful which is to ensure that every academic and artistic output from FSRD makes a real contribution to the creative industry and the welfare of the global community.

Nationally and internationally, professional profiles in fine arts and design have changed. The FSRD ISI Yogyakarta is committed to producing graduates who:

A technologically adept and creatively sovereign individual, capable of mastering AI tools (generative, parametric, and data analysis) without losing their artistic identity and philosophical depth.

Adaptable in the global market means being able to utilize IT to expand international networks, break down physical barriers through digital platforms, and master new creative economies based on intellectual property in the digital age.

Having critical and ethical capabilities, namely being able to be at the forefront in addressing issues of copyright, work authentication, and humanity amidst the automation of the creative industry.

On this occasion, I express my highest appreciation to all members of the academic community at FSRD ISI Yogyakarta, the lecturers who tirelessly research and create, the students who continue to experiment, and the educational staff who maintain the institution’s rhythm. Thank you also to the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, S.Sn., M.Sn., the Vice Rectors, and all the leadership of ISI Yogyakarta for their strategic guidance in overseeing this institutional transformation. Let us make this 2026 momentum a stepping stone to leap higher. FSRD ISI Yogyakarta does not merely want to “exist” on the world rankings list, but wants to be a party that helps determine the future direction of global fine arts and design.

That is all, thank you. Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you. Om shanti, shanti, shanti om.

Dean of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta,

Muhamad Sholahuddin, S.Sn., M.T.

Related news: https://fsrd.isi.ac.id/fakultas-seni-rupa-dan-desain-soroti-capaian-global-isi-yogyakarta-dalam-qs-wur-2026/

[41
164,207,208
post-51358","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-berita-info","tag-fsrd-isi-yogyakarta-2","tag-qs-wur-2026","tag-sambutan-dekan"],"a3_pvc":
https://fsrd.isi.ac.id/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Sambutan-Dekan-Terkait-SQWUR2026-463x348.png",463,348,true
https://fsrd.isi.ac.id/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Sambutan-Dekan-Terkait-SQWUR2026-300x300.png",300,300,true
https://fsrd.isi.ac.id/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Sambutan-Dekan-Terkait-SQWUR2026.png",1080,1080,false
["GET
