This activity is designed to broaden insights and improve students' skills in understanding material characteristics and implementing them in furniture prototype creation.

This workshop was attended by Mr. Mahdi Nurcahyo, S.Sn., M.A., as Interior Design Study Program Coordinator for ISI Yogyakarta, Mrs. Mutia Nurdina, B.Sc., M.Sc., as Interior Design Studio Lecturer, and Mr. Dihans Agil Hermawan along with the TACO Team. They emphasized the importance of hands-on practical experience in supporting student preparedness for the rapidly evolving needs of the professional interior design industry.

In this workshop, students get the opportunity to Create a cabinet prototype using various TACO's flagship material, such as premium HPL, edging, and the latest decorative panels. The students work directly from the concept design stage, material selection, cutting process, assembly, to finishing. The entire process is done with full support from the TACO technical team, which provides direction regarding material properties, application techniques, and industrial production quality standards.

Through this activity, students not only learn about the aesthetics and function of furniture, but also understand technical aspects such as material installation, joining techniques, size accuracy, and material selection strategies based on design needs. Mentorship from TACO professionals makes this activity highly relevant and applicable, especially in preparing students to enter the professional workforce.

Bapak Mahdi Nurcahyo stated that this collaboration is proof of the Interior Design Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta's commitment to providing a learning ecosystem that is adaptive and in line with the needs and developments of the architectural interior industry. Meanwhile, Ibu Mutia Nurdina emphasized that hands-on experience like this is crucial for shaping students' sensitivity to materiality and the furniture production process.

The Interior Design Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta expresses its high appreciation to TACO for their support, technical assistance, and willingness to share knowledge with students. It is hoped that this cooperation can continue and open up more opportunities for collaboration in the future, for the advancement of education and the interior design industry in Indonesia.

Yogyakarta, 13 November 2025 – Program Studi Desain Interior, Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain ISI Yogyakarta kembali menghadirkan kegiatan pembelajaran kolaboratif melalui Workshop Inovasi Material bersama TACO, yang berlangsung di Gedung Kuliah Umum Ajiyasa FSRD ISI Yogyakarta Lt. 1.
