Yogyakarta, 29 August - 2 September 2025 - The Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta again made academic and artistic achievements through the holding of a solo exhibition by its permanent lecturer, Dr. Sn. Indiria Maharsi, M.Sn. The exhibition titled \"Spiritual Vision\"<\/em> It took place on August 29 - September 2, 2025 at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta, one of the leading art spaces that often becomes a platform for various artists to display ideas, expressions, as well as reflections of life through works of art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition has a special position because it is a continuation of the exhibition titled \"Lelaku Neges Serah Sareh\"<\/em> which was previously held in July 2025. The exhibition was part of a series of doctoral examinations that successfully led Mr. Indiria to complete his doctoral studies. If in \"Lelaku Neges Serah Sareh\"<\/em> works are displayed as a form of academic accountability, then \"Spiritual Vision\"<\/em> comes as a development as well as a more personal, comprehensive and reflective appreciation of the artist's spiritual and creative journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In \"Spiritual Vision\"<\/em>Mr. Indiria once again presents works inspired by wayang beber, a Javanese traditional art form that is full of philosophical and symbolic meanings. Wayang beber is seen not only as a traditional narrative medium, but also as a means of spiritual communication that connects humans with the values of life, local wisdom, and the transcendental dimension. Through a contemporary visual approach, Mr. Indiria reworks the idioms of wayang beber so that it speaks a new language that is relevant to today's audience, without abandoning its traditional roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than just artistic works, this exhibition brings the big idea that art is not only something that can be enjoyed aesthetically through the physical eye, but also a medium to present spiritual experiences. Every stroke, composition and visualization displayed contains a message and energy that allows the audience to not only see, but also feel and experience. Herein lies the power of \"Spiritual Vision\"<\/em>He invites visitors to enter a space of contemplation, to see art as a doorway to the depths of the soul and spirituality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Mr. Indiria himself, the works on display are a long reflection of his life's journey-both as a person, academic, and artist. The process of creation is not only done with technical skills, but also through spiritual practice, contemplation, and appreciation of the values of life lived. As such, this exhibition serves not only as a presentation of visual works, but also as a spiritual record shared with the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhibition presence \"Spiritual Vision\"<\/em> becomes important in the context of art education in higher education. First, it shows that art in the academic realm does not stop at the theoretical and methodological aspects, but is also able to penetrate the philosophical and spiritual dimensions. Secondly, this exhibition provides an example for students and academicians of ISI Yogyakarta that the creation of works of art can be a complete way of learning - involving thoughts, feelings, as well as spirituality. Third, this exhibition is also a real contribution of ISI Yogyakarta in enriching the treasures of Indonesian contemporary art that is rooted in local traditions, but remains open to new interpretations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via \"Spiritual Vision\"<\/em>The audience is invited to realize that art can serve as a bridge between the material world and the inner world. Visitors to Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta are not only treated to aesthetically appealing visual works, but are also given the opportunity to reflect on life values, understand symbols, and even feel the presence of spiritual energy behind the works on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As such, this exhibition is not just an art event, but a cultural event that reminds us that art has a broader role than just entertainment or visual expression. Art, as demonstrated by Mr. Indiria's works, can be a space for encounter with oneself, with tradition, and with a spiritual dimension that transcends material boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhibition \"Spiritual Vision\"<\/em> The exhibition is expected to inspire, enlighten and give visitors a new understanding of the role of art in human life. Just as a spiritual journey is always personal and universal, the works in this exhibition are open to various interpretations according to each audience's experience. In the end, art is not only about what is seen, but also about what is felt, contemplated and lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
