Galeri Fadjar Sidik, August 28 \u2013 September 11, 2025 \u2014 The Fine Arts Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD), Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta officially opened an International Exhibition titled \u201cThe Little Things: Stamp Reimagined\u201d<\/em> on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Fadjar Sidik Gallery<\/strong>. The exhibition, which runs until September 11, 2025, features over 160 <\/strong>chosen from a total of 240 submissions through the mechanism open call<\/em>. Participants in this exhibition come from among students, lecturers, alumni of ISI Yogyakarta, as well as domestic and international artists, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Austria, France, Italy, Hungary, Grenada, and Afghanistan (8 countries).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening ceremony began at 4:00 PM Western Indonesian Time and was lively, attended by students, lecturers, artists, and the general public. The opening ceremony was conducted by Mr. Lutse Lambert Daniel Morin as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs III, Faculty of Visual Arts and Design, Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, Ms. Yetti Martanti, Head of the Yogyakarta City Culture Office, as a member of the Indonesian Philatelic Association (PFI) Yogyakarta management, and Mr. Ngadirin Nandar, Deputy EDM of PT Pos Indonesia Yogyakarta Branch. <\/strong>\u00a0through the symbolism of stamps on postcards. This simple act reflects the spirit of the exhibition, which aims to reintroduce stamps as a small but meaningful medium of artistic expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, the exhibition also features ten award-winning works selected from the National Stamp Design Competition for high school students, which was previously held from August 15\u201324, 2025. All selected works will be printed as stamps by PT Pos Indonesia Yogyakarta, the partner organizer who is once again supporting this event after their previous collaboration on the Exhibition. Postcard <\/em>The year 2024 is themed \u201cHello There: Postcard Reconstruction<\/em>\u201dwith the Philatelist Community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Satrio Hari Wicaksono, as the exhibition curator, emphasized that \u201cstamps\u201d serve as a metaphor for simple yet meaningful things that deserve to be re-examined within the context of contemporary visual art. Through the artists' artistic approaches, stamps are treated not merely as classic communication tools, but also as visual metaphors that open up dialogue across generations and countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitor enthusiasm was evident from the opening. They highly appreciated the works on display, while also enjoying the warm atmosphere created in the exhibition space. After the opening ceremony, the event became more lively with a musical performance by Megatruh. Soundsystem <\/em>which provides a fresh touch to this year's art celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhibition The Little Things: Stamp Reimagined<\/em> can be visited for free every day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Western Indonesian Time at the Fadjar Sidik Gallery, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta. Those who cannot attend in person can also watch the opening documentation via live broadcast on the Instagram account @senimurni_isiyk<\/strong>. This exhibition is expected to not only present a unique visual experience but also invite the public to re-examine how small things can speak volumes through art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
